  1. can you make jschlatt sing rabbit hole

  2. I found this video a day before the OST Composing Jam ends. Hopefully I can come up with something in that time.

  3. Can you talk on how to use music trackers as al;ternative workflow?

  4. come make music for my game!

  5. Hoping this video will motivate me to get back into this stuff, as I have way more knowledge I've accumulated. I used to make terrible songs on the regular but life kinda gets in the way and I lost all motivation. Also I'll say I've sat through 100s of tutorials and this is by far one of the best, it's nice to see someone cover a lot of elements simply and succinctly in a way that's applicable. Now if only I could figure out how to properly mix and master

  6. FL Studio wise, I love using Genny for 8-bit

  7. dang FL studio costs money? guess i'll just have to stick to beepbox

  8. I normally just use Musescore for a DAW lol. Would you reccomend FL Studio? Excellent video!

  9. Melody B is easier to remember for me, idk

  10. I NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT GAME JAMS NEEDING COMPOSERS!!! that's a great tip to throw in there, thank you! Excellent video, I'm trying to get back into the swing of it all after a long break. Thank you, subscribed! 🩵🩵

  11. He said you should learn music theory, but you really don’t want to. Unless it’s on your own time.

  12. Gotta disagree with you on stock instruments not sounding good.
FL Studio (and most other DAWs) actually have really good synths and effects, it just takes some time learning them to make something decent with it but they often come with many useful presets that you can modify.

If you can find the right synth and preset there are just straight up realistic-sounding pianos, flutes and other instruments hidden under a few mouse clicks.
Sakura, Morphine, Sytrus and Harmor are one of my favorite synths.
Some of the synths are actually a lot simpler than they look at first glance, synths often have buttons and settings in common that typically do the same thing, it just looks different in the GUI.

  13. Honestly i think i could come up with some cool stuff, if it wasnt for the fact that i used fl mobile, which means no soundfonts or downloadable plugins 🙁

  14. personally i clicked on this video because im hungry

  15. I don't even necessarily want to make music to be used in actual video games. I'm more the type of person to hear a cool video game soundtrack and wish to emulate its vibe, or perhaps hear a particularly good song and imagine remixing it into something even better. Although, I guess that is closer to video game music than regular music. huh.

  16. would you say a better starting point to vgm creation would be a boss theme or a relaxing/area theme?

  17. I clicked cuz I want to make music

  18. Thank you for this video, I have added it to my “Very Good Stuff” playlist which is were I keep videos that I can learn from/study in the future

  19. i personally clicked on this because i make music as a hobby

  20. funny thing is in the easier to sing section i found b a bit easier and liked it even though it was supposedly more complex

  22. fuck it we ball > music theory

  23. online sequencer free also pretty good

  24. I appreciate a youtuber who responds to most of their comments.

  25. Im a game dev, looking to make some music for my solo game and this is amazing

  26. when i started i was insanely good at music theory since i had to study it for years-
but i am scared to use DAW’s that require money because im trying to learn on my own haha

  27. Thanks for the tips :)!

  28. I’ve been writing music for a relatively short time, but I also just graduated with an associate’s in Music. My very first piece I wrote was performed by one of our student ensembles and I wrote my first big personal piece as a boss theme for a friend of mine.

Making music is a ton of fun and I’ve started learning to use FL Studio on top of MuseScore to make more complete pieces. I def wanna make writing for games and such my career and any tips, like the ones in this video, are helpful along the way!

  29. Very Informative Video!!!!

  30. Is there any free DAW?

  31. To answer the first thing you say at the start, I've made music and people tell me it sounds like it suits a game from the 90's

  32. Absolutely fantastic video! Great structure and explanations. Keep it up man 🙂

  33. Im none of those people because im game dev and music producer

  35. it so good i love music and vido game so it cool that i cam make it for games

  36. Any advice and resources for complete beginners at music composition?

  37. most of the music I make tends to resemble video game music by accident just because that was the main type of music I grew up with, its change a bit since I started but I might try leaning more into my video game music side a bit more

  38. I love listening the ost in video games but I wanted to know how they are made. I love condensed lessons and you give me answer to both of my demands. Thanks

  39. I have just found this video, but as ive been on amd off making my game music on Lmms. I'd have to ask, do you think its a good alternative to paid ones? Since im strapped on cash

  40. I've learned quite some stuff from this video and actually feel like making music. I'll see where that takes me later on.

  41. 5:51 melody a is pathetic

    wtf

    oh wait i forgot
normal people want to be able to hum and sing everything

  42. im going to ctrl + z myself

  43. I found the part about bass notes and emotions especially useful not only for video game music but music in general

  44. personally i clicked on this video because i really fancy the creator
