  1. I can't believe you're talking about adaptive music but you never mentioned Payday!

  2. The battle music in paper Mario the origami king is also a great example

  3. Soundtrack in sonic riders zero gravity has three parts. The mechanic in that game is the gravity power that can let you fly in a specific part of the track, do really hard turns and ride on walls. When activating the power it makes the soundtrack transition to a new part and you gotta check it out to hear it yourself.

I don't know if YouTubers read comments from older videos, but at least i tried

  4. I know this is a hopeless thing to ask, but does anybody know what the outro music is? I'm sure that I know it, but I can't put my finger on it.

  5. Payday 2 also has adaptive music and it's gorgeous. Razormind is the perfect example.

  6. Rosalina's Observatory is one of my favourite pieces of music of all time and I love Mario Odyssey to death and I'm only now just realizing that pause menu thing. Wtf.

  7. Minecraft does fade in music and it does it very good

  8. I cant belive you didnt mention papa's flash games where the music turn into different versions of the same song depending on the work station you where in

  9. Gotta love how he didn't mention that the music evolves the more you solve the puzzle in portal 2.

  10. A great example of transitioning music is Portal 2, when you enter a Excursion Funnel, the same music but a different version plays and the transition is seamless.

  11. Kinda sad that he didn't talk about the terror radius in Dead By Daylight
That shit is cool as hell

  12. WHATS THE INTRO SONG
i've been searching for so long yet i havent found it
    i forgot where its from

  13. Can I just shout out pokémon black and white for fuckin sick adaptive music at the badge check gates
like, you go through each gate before the pokemon league and for every gate you go through the music adds another layer of intensity until victory road where you get this insanely hype track for preparing for the elite four and its just perfect

  14. Somebody please tell me the doom song version that he plays

  15. song at the beginning is animal crossing new leaf 10pm

  16. I um…. The first thing I do in any video game is immediately turn the music off…

  17. One of my favorite transitional pieces is from the Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. When you are on the train there is a different version of intensity depending on your speed full speed being the entire band or orchestra or whatever is making that amazing-sounding music and stoping being a little guitar. It's so good!

  18. Yah I saw the character not even moving there legs just moving, didn’t even edit it 0:40

  19. That's why Journey (by thatgamecompany) is one of my favorite games. The music is amazing and changes for each environment and the background creatures are involved

  20. DMC 5 does a great job of music
It gets better if you do better in the combat

  21. man's actually didn't include the legendary FTL soundtrack, which basically was the literally same song twice but with the combat version being REMIXED, so they'd basically run both side by side and during transitions, the normal soundtrack would slowly deafen while the combat soundtrack goes to full music volume. Pretty much the coolest, simplest transition between soundtrack versions I've ever heard.

  22. Civ VI does it really well with the DLC's as well. in Rise and Fall, each age has a different soundtrack and each Civ has its own style of music as well (or it might be on spheres of influence, not sure). i remember getting a dark age and the music sounded almost cultish, then that same game once i got a heroic age completely changed the atmosphere with very strong feeling music

  23. Undertale was when I first really noticed music in games.

  24. I really f**** hated the adaptive music in Mario kart 8. I genuinely felt that it detracted from the enjoyability of the game, when playing on the legend of Zelda levels. The neat gimmick of the chest opening sound from earlier Zelda titles playing wore off very quickly when I realized that in split screen co-op, you will never hear anything other than that sound.

  25. Please make game where the music transition is the sound of a very disgruntled man taking taking out a music CD and putting in a different one

  26. 3rd video on adaptive music in games and I wish guys could just shut up and let the music play for a while to actually feel how it works instead of "here, listen to this transition… 1… 2… 3… did you hear that?! Pretty cool huh?!"

  27. 7:28 you can see the poster behind him change to say "Gamer"

  28. YOU REALLY JUST MENTIONED ADAPTIVE MUSIC WITHOUT PAYDAY 2 AHHHHHHHHHH

  29. Me: you know Hollow knight

    HE KNOWS HOLLOW KNIGHT.
    sorry I love hollow knight.
