  1. That he did but Uematsu helped and some of the samples sound similar to Final Fantasy VI, plus they're both Square games. In retrospect, I should have replaced the picture of Uematsu with the Squaresoft logo or Chrono Trigger with FF IV.

  2. Lol Rahm (however it's spelled.) love DS9.

    great video!

  3. why are you videos not more know? i know it's a stupid question, but still…

  4. Slight correction, the Genesis/Mega Drive wasn't a MIDI controller, but it did use FM synth like many MIDI controllers of the day. But it's sound was different than something like say the Sound Blaster. It had a YM2612 and a TI SN76489 PSG. The  6th FM channel could also be used to play samples.

  5. Your channel is awesome, really happy to have found it !
    Thanks for your work !

  6. I really dig your channel man, keep on going! You're heading to the top.

  7. talk about the sharp x68000 and motoi dakuraba plz

  8. Glad to hear Monkey Island on here. Michael Land was amazing. A great composer and creator of iMuse which made a big difference in video game music load time.  Sega CD was the first to have music from a CD.  Lunar EB was one of the best soundtracks at that time.  94 I believe? when Sega Saturn's Panzer Dragoon 1 was released 2 years later, same feeling.

  9. Every time a game with MIDI or sample-based music gets a soundtrack release, it sounds worse. This is true of Zelda, Chrono Trigger, and even Undertale!

Also, I never knew the original PlayStation was that good for sound. Certainly one can get a DAC as good or better today, but still nice to know.

  10. Hmm well. One sega Genesis game that has music I love is vectorman. Give it a listen. If you want to anyways.

  11. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the SNES use a very similar language to MIDI?

  12. LOL I lost it at "RAM or ROM" with a pic of Rom from DS9
