I read various comments about Greece and how it went downhill since Athens 2004…Let me remind all people that if there is one country which has been robbed and is still being robbed till now, it is for sure Greece. The greek state may be corrupt- in great part with the knowing and help of foreign countries and banks- but that does not change the fact that all the world is using GREEK IDEA(L)S and GREEK CULTURE in every field of human knowledge…FOR FREE!
    The OLYMPICS should be organized only in Greece and be financed by the payments of rights to compete.Who is robbing who? Imagine for a second, THE INSOLVENT DEBT CREATED BY THIS LEGACY, then we might think twice before accusing the Greeks. The foreign powers(Britain,France,Russia) that supposedly liberated modern Greece knew that fact like others before and made sure to reinstate alien kings and bureaucrats. Since its liberation, Hellas has been ruled by foreign interests which have constantly deprived Greeks of their wealth both material and cultural. Still, they are most hospitable and maintain the tradition of their ancestors. Vilifying the Greeks dates back a very long time and is part of western culture which has never come to terms with its heavy dependence on everything it took and stole from them. So, stop the cliches read in the press and be grateful for what they left us and still give us. See Greek islands, Acropolis, Delphi, greek food and so on…

    Σ'αυτη τη πανδαισία, σ'αυτο το μοναδικό ελληνικό ξεφάντωμα, στους ωραιότερους ολυμπιακούς αγώνες που έγιναν ποτέ, πιο το αρνητικό, για 18 άτομα που απάντησαν αρνητικά !!!!!!
    Μόνο αν μου πείτε περί οικονομικών, μιζων, κλπ. Κ τι ακολούθησε μετά στα οικονομικά μας, ναι εδώ συμφωνώ !!!!
    Αλλά όλο το.σκηνικο, η σκηνοθεσία, η όλη αντίληψη για το στήσιμο έναρξης κ λήξης ήταν πραγματικά φαντασμαγορικό !!!!!!

41. Mikis Theodorakis wrote the score, including the theme heard in this clip, for the 1964 movie of the same name starring Anthony Quinn. It was based on the novel "The Life and Times of Alexis Zorba," written in 1946 by Greek author Nikos Kazantzakis. It won three Academy Awards and Theodorakis was nominated for Best Original Score.
